As promised, some BVI pictures from Ben

Port in St. Thomas
Saba Rock

Marina Cay--a good spot to refuel and stock up on goodies.

The Slagel boys sporting afros. I'm not exactly sure how all these wigs ended up on the boats, but they made for some hilarious pictures.

Bret Hightower channeling Britney Spears and John Heinle mistaking a bikini top for his Easter bonnet.

While Ben was out of town.....

Ben spent all of last week in the British Virgin Islands, cruising and island hopping on a yacht with a bunch of friends. I decided kind of last minute not to join him since feeling like a whale and being completely sober do not make for fun boat trips. Plus, what if something happened to Emery? I was pretty anxious at the thought of being a two day boat ride away from a medical center (I wouldn't even consider the facilities down there to be "hospitals"). Since I was going to be in town, I offered to babysit for the yellow lab of some friends of ours who were also attending BVIs 2009. Oh my goodness......Lilly the Lab is 12 months old and she is hilarious!! She also has more energy than I ever dreamt possible. After having her all to myself for several days, I begged my parents to come visit and bring Spark-e in hopes of Lilly finally getting a chance to tire herself out. Maddux certainly wasn't up for the job! Mom ended up bringing Spark-e twice and Lilly had two play dates with the chocolate lab who lives across the street (Rosco). She wore them both out, but not herself. Lilly went home this morning and I cried! I miss her! Here are some pics of her first play date with Spark-e. As soon as Ben gets around to uploading his pics from the boat trip, I'll post some of those.
Poor Maddux tried to take cover under the pillow.

Lilly thinks she is a lap dog.

Southern Snow!

Hard to believe that Greenville got snow the other day, but we did! After giving up hope for any snow at all this year, we got dumped on in March. It's so pretty--when it only lasts a day or two.
Atticus hunkered down on the couch with us in front of the fire while the snow fell

We think he looks like a torpedo when he lays like this.

Our street

The Notre Dame flag probably feels right at home in this kind of weather.

Backyard

As fun as the snow has been, I am thrilled to report that our weather should be back to normal by the weekend....sunny and 70s. Thank goodness!
