Rainy Days

These past few days have brought much needed rain to Greenville, thanks to Hurricane Fay's remnants. Our area experienced such downpours that our backyard began to resemble the banks of the Mississippi! Not complaining, though......we have been in such a drought for the past year and a half that we're hoping for more storms to head this way.

Wakeboarding

Ben and I spent Sunday on Lake Hartwell with my cousin, Alicia. We had such a good time, despite the extremely low lake levels. Actually, I think the low water level combined with the super high gas prices may have contributed to our good time.....we had the water all to ourselves! Although I am nowhere near Ben's level when it comes to wakeboarding, I am definitely catching some air now and sometimes even sticking the landing. I've included some videos.....the first two I crash and burn but the third, "I don't know, but it's lookin' good so far." (I had to throw in a Maverick quote for my "Top Gun" loving hubby).

Vail, CO

This past weekend Ben and I headed west for the wedding of Scott Whitfield and Brooke Anderson. Ben and Scott have been close friends since meeting at Colorado State and Scott was one of Ben's groomsmen. Now Ben was able to return the favor. Brooke and Scott were married at The Lodge at Vail and they did a spectacular job. What a fun weekend! Vail is a fabulous little ski town with lots of fun bars and cute shops. Bret Hightower was our travel buddy as the three of us were all flying in and out of Denver together. Or so we thought. Unfortunately, our perfect weekend was slightly spoiled by our difficulties getting home, which consisted of missing a flight, hanging out at Denver International Airport for almost twelve hours, hanging out at Hartsfield-Jackson for an additional five hours, a sleepless night and lost baggage. But I'm trying not to dwell on that and focus on how much fun we had beforehand. Congratulations, Brooke and Scott Whitfield!

John Heinle, Barry Tuthill, Scott Whitfield, Bret Hightower and Ben partake in a ski town tradition: the shot ski.
